Spark The Rise

April 9, 2012
You don’t have to be a superhero to make a difference. You don’t need to wear capes or tights. Some of us make a difference by teaching. By inspiring. By changing the communities we live in.
Today, we are asking you to be part of the journey.

It is here. Right here. I can almost see it. Feel it.

My Kids

August 10, 2011

I am talking about the kids I teach, not my kids literally (or biologically) speaking.

And they are wonderful adorable, lively, smart, enthusiastic and a whole gamut of cutesy adjectives.

What A Mess!

March 29, 2011

So here it is. My head’s totally messed up. It’s never been this bad (despite of what some people might claim).

A Year Older (not again!)

March 6, 2011

Ya well, it is my birthday once again and so the title.

I am sure you are familiar with how much I hate birthdays. If not go back in time. No it’s not a time portal, duh!

Disconnect

To someplace where there is no need of the constant beep of the cellphone, or the hum of the internet.  Somewhere you don’t want to escape from, ever…

The Deadly Sin

February 15, 2011

On my way to the reading-room the other day, a big fat Innova cut me in my lane and crossed in front of me, making me miss the signal. This maniac of a rickshaw driver came so close to my car, that he would have scratched it. I don’t care for scratches, who does? But I’m a tad more finicky especially when the car is newly serviced.

Absorbing The Mania

February 10, 2011

I am an urbanite through and through, and I actually thrive in the cliched hustle and bustle. Hailing from Mumbai, you would think that I would prefer holidaying in some remote, serene, picture-postcard-perfect location. Nah! I can’t tolerate being away from civilization from more than a couple of days, it gives me the creeps. Give me a city- and I am set.

I wouldn’t call myself a traveler either, as I haven’t had much of an opportunity to go around, being at the mercy of my parents decisions. But I have enjoyed a few trips in the country as well as abroad. There’s always a downside when traveling with parents. There are some million restrictions which stops you from doing things that will scandalize them (you do get my drift, don’t you). But the upside when it comes to traveling with my folks is that they are as enthusiastic as I am, to EXPLORE, DISCOVER and ABSORB.

Which are after all the reasons why I like to travel.

Tongue-(Un)Tied

January 18, 2011

Whenever I think of the phrase ‘tongue-tied’, my mind draws quite a grotesque picture. I imagine this cartoon like character with its tongue being pulled out as long as the red carpet at the Oscar’s and then being tied into a knot. Well that would definitely shut someone up. Do you see where I am going with this? I don’t.

Indian Ocean Memorial Concert

Indian Ocean is an Indo-Rock fusion band, one of first in India, and by far the best.

And I had the opportunity to see them live in concert. Ain’t I lucky ;)?

Mumbai Winter

December 15, 2010

I’ve been itching to write since a long time, but somehow have been running out of words. But there’s one thing that’s raising eyebrows since a few days. And what better topic than winter right here in Mumbai.

The temperature has suddenly dropped (last recorded at a minimum of 17*C, which is very very low, by Mumbai standards), and it sure is wonderfully chilly.

Anticlimax

December 3, 2010

And it happens yet again… This is being repeated way too many times, and still it has caught me unawares. It is true when people say life is unpredictable, even when it is as predictable as a clock running on time.
